More that we make, cut and fit
The services listed above are the ones we are asked for most, but they are not everything we do. We cut, polish and fit almost anything in glass from our workshop in Falkirk. Here is the rest of it.
Mirrored wardrobe doors make a small bedroom feel twice the size. We cut the mirror to your opening, back it for safety, and fit it to sliding or hinged doors. Send us the measurements of the frame and we will do the rest.
A Juliet balcony puts a wall of glass across a set of French doors, so you get the light and the view without losing any floor space. We supply the toughened glass panel and the fixings, and fit them across Central Scotland.
A glass top protects a table and lets the wood show through. We cut tops to any shape, including circles and rounded corners, with polished edges so there is nothing sharp. The same goes for desks, sideboards and display cabinets.
Toughened glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass and breaks into small blunt pieces rather than shards. Laminated glass holds together when it breaks, and cuts noise. We supply both cut to size, to BS EN 12150, including 17.5mm and 21.5mm laminated for balustrades.
Fire rated glass holds back fire and smoke for a set time, usually 30, 60 or 90 minutes, so people can get out. It is required in some doors, screens and stairwells. Tell us the rating building control has asked for and we will supply glass to match.
Ceramic glass takes very high heat without cracking, which is why it is used in stove and wood burner doors. If the glass in your stove has cracked, send us the old pane or the measurements and we will cut a replacement.
Greenhouse panes break, and they always seem to break in winter. We cut greenhouse glass to size, in horticultural glass or toughened if you want it to last, for collection or fitting.
If the glass has misted up between the panes, the sealed unit has failed, not the window. We supply a new sealed unit made to your sizes and fit it into your existing frame, which costs far less than a whole new window.
Integral blinds sit sealed inside the unit, so they never need dusting and there are no cords for children to catch on. They suit back doors, bathrooms, and anywhere a normal blind gets in the way.
Antique mirror has a soft, aged, slightly smoky finish that takes the harsh edge off a reflection. It suits a feature wall, an alcove or a cabinet front. We also do bronze, grey and tinted mirror.
A glass hearth sits under a wood burner and protects the floor while letting the flooring show through. We cut hearths to any shape, in toughened glass, to the thickness your stove installer specifies, with polished edges.
A broken shop front needs to be made safe and made right the same week, not the same month. We measure, supply and fit shop front glass in toughened or laminated safety glass for businesses across Central Scotland.
A reception screen keeps a front desk secure without shutting the public out. We make sliding glass screens on tracks, and speakeasy units with a voice panel and a document tray, for surgeries, offices and trade counters.
Leaded glass gives a door or window a traditional look, in clear, textured or coloured glass. We make decorative leadwork to your design, or copy an existing panel that has been damaged.
Crystal cut, sometimes called brilliant cut, is a pattern ground into the surface of the glass so it catches the light. It is a traditional decorative finish for door panels and screens, and we cut it in our own workshop.
Sandblasting gives glass a frosted finish, either across the whole pane for privacy or as a pattern, logo or house number. It works well on bathroom windows, internal doors and office partitions.
Glass bonding joins glass to glass, or glass to metal, with a UV cured adhesive that sets clear and holds hard. It is how display cabinets, shelving and glass furniture are built without visible brackets.
Perspex is lighter than glass and will not shatter, which makes it the right choice for some jobs, like a shed window or a machine guard. We cut Perspex to size alongside our glass work.
Our CNC machine cuts shapes, holes and cut-outs to a drawing, repeatably and to fine tolerances. It is how the sockets in a splashback end up in exactly the right place, and how we run batches for trade customers.
Waterjet cutting uses a high pressure jet of water to cut intricate shapes without heat, so no stress is left in the glass. It lets us do curves, inlays and detail that a straight cut cannot.
